Trinity Lutheran Church- Regular Church Council Meeting-August 13th, 2020

Present: Greg Jans, Jeff Niedenthal, Sonia Liedman, Willis Chase, Richard Larson, Dave Martin, Janelle Johnson, Pastor Megan Preston
 
Greg called the meeting to order at 6:59 pm.

Minutes from the July 9th, 2020 meeting were reviewed and after a few revisions, a motion to approve was made by Jeff and seconded by Willis. Motion carried.
 
Treasurer’s:

A motion to approve was made by Richard and seconded by Willis. Motion carried
 
Pastor’s:
Pastor Megan stated she was back from vacation and had performed a wedding for Damian Zaeska and Courtney Malvin while she was on vacation in Lutsen. Trinity is conducting indoor church services on Sundays at 10am. We will be looking for feedback from families on what they feel will work for them with Sunday School. Confirmation will still be held on Reformation Sunday in October. Becky will be on vacation September 3rd-8th. Pastor stated she is looking to go to Southgrove to give a service and Holy communion. Hopefully clergy visits will be allowed soon.
 
Committee Reports:
Christian Education and Youth:  meet the middle of the month

Organization and Activities:  N/A

Finance and Stewardship:  move the insurance money for the sign to the building fund.

Mission and Outreach: Backpack Program follow-up, Mission Auction?, God’s work our hands scheduled for Sunday, September 13th. We will be joining with other churches.

Personnel:  schedule annual reviews

Worship and Music:  A motion to move worship services back outdoors starting August 30th and continuing through September was made by Jeff and seconded by Sonia. Motion carried. September communion dates are 9/6 and 9/20. Janelle Johnson and Sherri Bergstrom and Altar guild for September. A healing service is being planned.

Properties:  A motion was made by Jeff and seconded by Richard for Sonia to purchase Flag Banners with Trinity’s name on them to use until a replacement sign is purchased. A budget of $250.00. Motion carried.
