CALL TO ORDER: President Melissa Bergstrom called meeting to order at 6:37pm FAITHFUL INNOVATIONS: Members shared “Where They Have Seen God” APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Added August Fest to New Business. Motion made by Kyle Larsen, seconded by Jake Boonstra to approve agenda. Motion carried. REPORTS SECRETARY: Motion made by Willis Chase, seconded by Kyle Larsen to approve April 2023 minutes. Motion carried. TREASURY: Motion made by Kyle Larsen, seconded by Jake Boonstra to approve Treasury Report. Motion carried. PASTOR: Megan presented and explained Confirmation Curriculum. Conducted her monthly meetings and visitations. Megan met with ACGC Ministerial and will be stepping down from being chair of the organization. Has been working on summer planning for worship and events. Megan will be taking some Continuing Education time. COMMITTEE REPORTS Christian Education and Youth: Dan Cannon was absent. i. Youth Coordinator: No Report ii. Middle & High School Activities: No Report iii. Mission Trip – Serve Boldly: No Report iv. VBS: Will be held June 4th-6th in conjunction with Ostmark Lutheran church. The location will be Forest City Stockade. Carpooling will be available. Organizations and Activities: i. Coffee and Fellowship: Discussed “Java for Jesus”. 1. May-Dec Donations: Tabled until next month. Finance and Stewardship: i. Family Fare Direct your dollars $1000: Motion made by Chris Slinden, seconded by Kyle Larsen to direct $1000 Family Fare Dollars to Sunday School Fund. Motion carried. Mission & Outreach Ministry: i. Mission BBQ: Discussed possible organizations to donate to. Starting to plan event. Personnel: i. Annual Reviews: Joe met with Megan for an annual review and presented her with Job Description. Planning an annual review with Mary. Worship, Music, and Arts: Reviewed Faithful Innovation’s May Baskets. The music subcommittee will meet on 5/3. Discussing moving 1st communion to Sunday. Quilts are ready for Graduates; they will be honored on 5/21. Java For Jesus will be on 6/25, 7/30, and 8/27. Final Coop Service on 9/3 is still TBD, possibly be at Optimist Baseball Park in Litchfield. Schedule a meeting with Head Usher’s to create consistency with communion. Properties: i. Steeple & Lit Cross: Shingles are ordered. Possible start date end of May to beginning of June. ii. Sanctuary Roof: Completed iii. Parsonage chimney, siding, & soffits: Chimney is scheduled for June 2nd. Receiving a bid from 201 Building Supply for siding, soffit, and windows. iv. Fellowship Hall Window: Has a call in to the glass company. Endowment Committee: No Report. OLD BUSINESS Estate Planning Workshop: Talk with Richard Larson. Constitutional Updates: Ongoing. Streaming Worship: No Report Puzzle Night: Puzzle night took place on April 21st, had 9 teams. Mission & Vision Statements: Tabled to next month. NEW BUSINESS August Fest: Small business and craft expo to possibly be held in Fellowship Hall at Trinity. The event will be on the 3rd Saturday of August. Executive Session: Adjournment & Lord’s Prayer: Motion made by Willis Chase, seconded by Kyle Larsen to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
