POSITION TITLE: Coordinator of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries
RESPONSIBLE TO: Pastor and Staff Support Committee
POSITION TYPE: Part-time, 15 hours per week
DUTIES: Work with congregation leaders and pastor to develop and implement programs for youth, along with other duties assigned. This includes, but not limited to:

POSITION TYPE: Part-time, 15 hours per week
DUTIES: Work with congregation leaders and pastor to develop and implement programs for youth, along with other duties assigned. This includes, but not limited to:
- Plan and implement activities, materials, music and ministry programs for children, youth, and families (w/children 18 and under). Cooperate closely with the Christian education committee in the planning and implementation process.
- Recruit congregation volunteers for activities and programs involving youth ministry.
- Communicate information about activities and programs to the congregation (especially families with children 18 and under), partner churches, and the wider community, through a variety of formats.
- Provide opportunities for children, youth, and families (w/ children 18 and under) to grow in their involvement within the congregation and the wider church.
- Prepare the proposed annual budget for recommendation to the Church Council. Work with the Youth Committee in raising funds for youth ministry activities.
- Plan and lead Christian education meetings as necessary.
- Ministries currently include: Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and Bible Camp Coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Is able to articulate and support the Christian faith and Lutheran teachings.
- Has good organizational, management, planning and communication skills.
- Has positive background in working with children, parents, and members of a congregation.
- Preferably has experience in children and family ministry as a paid employee or as a volunteer.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Is willing to be regularly present at Trinity Lutheran church for worship, educational activities, youth events, and interaction with parents, members of the congregation and others. Coordination with the Christian Education Committee is necessary for planned absences.
EMPLOYMENT SPECIFICS:
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule is necessary. This includes some evenings, some regular office hours during the week, and weekends as needed.
- Pay range is: Commensurate with education and experience.
- Work related mileage will be reimbursed.
- Supervision will be by the Pastor in consultation with the Staff Support Committee.
- There will be biannual mutual evaluations by the Pastor and the Staff Support Committee. More frequent meetings will take place when needed.
- The congregation will provide the Youth Office as a workspace. This office is also used for storage of Sunday School materials. The coordinator will maintain the Youth Office in a presentable way.
- Applicant must be able to pass a background check.
